Frequently Asked Questions
Everything parents usually ask. Don't see yours? Just reach out.
What ages are the camps for?
Most camps are for kids roughly ages 8–14, with each camp noting its ideal age range. Beginners are always welcome — no experience needed.
Does my child need to be experienced with computers?
No. Our camps are designed for curious beginners as well as kids who already love making things. We meet each camper where they are.
What are the hours?
Camps are week-long day camps, Monday through Friday, 9am–4pm. Each day is split into a morning "Create" session and an afternoon "Play" session.
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes. We’re a program of a 501(c)(3) charity and offer need-based scholarships so cost is never the reason a child misses out. Just mention it on the registration form.
What will my child make?
By the end of the week every camper has built their own game or multimedia project, plus the confidence that comes from making something real.
Who runs the camps?
Create & Play Camps is a charitable program of Video Game Palooza, Inc., an Indianapolis 501(c)(3) public charity. Camps are led by counselors with a low camper-to-counselor ratio.
